My Scholarship

My research interests are broad, but are centered on the questions related to my dissertation, "Reading 1 Corinthians with Philosophically Educated Women."  These questions include philosophical content in 1 Corinthians, the education of women in the ancient world, patronage and philosophers, the presence of philosophically educated women in Corinth and the Pauline community, and how these women would understand Paul.  These interests obviously cover a wide scope of New Testament and classical studies, so I plan to reflect deeply on these topics over the years.
